Finalizing my TWS reports, reviewing next weeks race schedule, I had that craving for Pho sate again. As usual, the waitress said, "Twenty minute", quickly hung up on me, and I continued analyzing the calendar.
A most painful rest period is complete, but the team is left with little time before Nederlandse, and, with 1000 points set to expire, the stakes are very high. Luveaucek shrank to 13 riders; one miscalculation, or an unfortunate injury, could plummet the team to Division 3 for the first time in over an OCM decade!
A loud knock shocked me back to reality and I hurried to pay my delivery, but they forgot chop sticks.... again!? I said it was fine, like always, but this new kid said he'd be back in ten minutes and rushed off on his bike. The restaurant is about ten minutes away, by car, so I thought ... yeah right, and returned to my office; however, he promptly returned with a titanium set, thanked me for the tip, and began to depart. I was astonished, and immediately stopped him ...
Long story short, downhill specialist Dành Van Khoa, was originally from Hoi An, Vietnam, not far from Da Nang Beach. He's been a delivery rider, there, for the last ten years until suddenly moving here to work with his sister ... the old delivery driver.
Well played, Dành Dà Mành ... well played.
